PROJECT MANAGER - LAND DEVELOPMENT

The Professional Engineer, Project Manager position will lead the planning and engineering of land development projects while working as part of a design team. The Project Manager will design the infrastructure to support residential, commercial, and mixed used development projects. Experience with master-planned communities and municipal utility districts preferred.

Job Description

  • Performs civil engineering design calculations; develop construction plans, specifications, feasibility studies and other technical reports for land development clients. 
  • Understands engineering conditions and laws and permitting organizations such as city, state and county entities, especially in the greater Houston, TX area; is able to research, identify and apply permitting process and code requirements to engineering assignments. 
  • Responsible for conceptualizing the initial design approach for a major phase of a large project, or have overall responsibility for the engineering work on a project of limited scope. 
  • Self-manages work through to completion and may provide assistance to, or provide a leadership role to, less experienced engineers. 
  • Exercises judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. 
  • Manages budget and hours to develop designs and plans that achieve our clients' goals and objectives while meeting schedule commitments and budget requirements. 
  • Builds and maintains relationships with others on the project teams; works collaboratively to ensure that technical, quality and client requirements are implemented on projects. 
  • Provides client support, which might include attending design meetings, routine and/or regular interaction with clients/client managers and presentation support during the execution of projects and proposals. 
  • Prepares quantity take-offs, and cost estimates. 
  • Designs Water, sanitary sewer, paving, and drainage solutions for Clients. 
  • Prepares written technical reports and studies. 
  • Establishes clear communication with agencies during the technical review process. 
  • Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates engineering work involving conventional engineering practices. 
  • May require field-based activities like coordination with construction services, inspections and/or reviewing sites with client groups. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD and Civil3D 
  • 5+ years of experience in Land Development in Texas

CIVIL ENGINEER, EIT

The Engineer-in-Training position will assist in the planning and engineering of land development projects while working as part of a design team under the direct supervision of a PE. The E.I.T. will assist in the design of infrastructure to support residential, commercial, and mixed used development projects.  

Job Description

  • Assist the Project Manager in the production of project plans, specifications and cost estimates 
  • Develop design alternatives and ensure compliance with applicable local codes and standards.  
  • Develop Construction Plans and Specifications for Clients 
  • Design Water, sanitary sewer, paving, and drainage solutions for Clients 
  • Prepare quantity take-offs, and cost estimates 
  • Prepare written technical reports and studies 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
  • Passed the FE exam
  • Knowledge of local codes and design criteria a plus
  • Familiar with engineering principles, techniques, and procedures
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Skills Desired: AutoCAD Civil3D 
  • Previous internship experience in civil residential design is preferred but not required
  • Recent grads are encouraged to apply
